Puertas del Cielo – Eivissa
Feliz año nuevo compañeros…alright, maybe too little too late…some things are still better said late than never. How did the world treat you so far into 2016? Hope it has been a little kinder to you out there than it has been with the world economy…yeah, I’m an econ-nerd, get used to it ;-). Anyhow, end of January also means halftime with the damned winter, three months to go and we can all rejoice at the arrival of spring, which is the little sibling of what I am really waiting for…summer. Damn i miss you three-month-a-year tease of my retirement. Sooner maybe, hopefully! I’m working on that.
Summer is also the right cue for the picture above which I took during my third and last trip to Eivissa towards the end of the island’s long summer last year. This one was taken at a place called “Puertas del Cielo” (Heaven’s Gates) close to Santa Agnès de Corona on the north-west coast of the island. In some aspects it remindes me of Es Vedra without the 15 minute climb to the top of the cliff next to Torre des Savinar, which I did again this time because a) I can and b) it is simply awesome (see here and here). I try not to compare and judge here just saying it is a very nice place to sit, rest, drink, listen to and watch…the sea…boats passing by…birds on their hunt…and remind yourself how minor our so called major problems seem in these moments. Huh, I’m getting all melancholic and esoteric…gotta go see some economy numbers. Tata!
PS: Thanks to Gerhard for showing me “Puertas del Cielo” and for so much more. Thanks to many people, you all know that I’m talking about you (Tina, Nici, Tilly, Wouter, Martina, Moni and Ella, Juanito and HOLA!-Kurt). Vamos a vernos che amigos!
PPS: Some numbers for 2015…2.650 views, 674 visitors, 680 likes, from all continents (that’s freaking amazing!). Thank you so much for your interest in photonautics – and now let’s top that. Let me know if you have some smart suggestions to improve this blog. I’ll pretend for a while that this is a democracy ;-). Tata…!
Your work is well done. Indeed! It’s why everyone is coming to visit your blog. Best wishes!
